Vintage dresser
Step one: the finding
Find a piece that gets you excited! I found this vintage dresser and was so excited giving it a refreshed look.

Step two: the Vision
Create a new vision. I thought a lighter look would give it a new fresh more modern farmhouse look.

Step three: Get to work
Roll up your sleeves. Every piece needs a good cleaning. If you start out with a piece that is not squeaky clean it will ruin your paint finish. You can use a de-glosser on any shiney pieces, or for all pieces you can use a vinegar and water solution, or your favorite paint brand cleaner ( HTP, Amy Howard, Dixie Belle, ect).

Step four: Sand
On this project I started off cleaning it up and using by adding a 2 coats of light gray chalk paint to the top of the dresser and the outer fronts of the drawers. I painted the rest of the dresser a more modern gray color.
Step five: Details
I did used a dry brush technique to highlight the details of the piece on top of the dresser, added a dowel to hang a towel on to finish it off.

Step six: Display proudly!!

White & Gold
Dresser
Before:
I found this dresser at a garage sale and it fit what my granddaughter needed for her new big girl room. It was solid wood and had lots sof drawers. My daughter wanted something she could grow with so we decided on on distressed white with gold pulls.
With new drawer pulls and a new coat of paint this really changed the overall aesthetic of this piece. I began with a base coat of gray, layered with white, and distressed back to the gray. Topped with it poly, to make it more durable since it was going in a 4 year olds room. I was super pleased with this new creation, and my granddaughter was very excited about her princess, "big girl" dresser.
