What is it all about?

Thanks for stopping by the Crafty Damselfly.  I am the Damselfly Lady, aka Kim.  I have always been a DIY, crafty person, but it has alway just been a on again off again hobby that I did when it was convenient or when there was money to do so....As I have grown older I have realized that life is to short to not enjoy each day, and I find way more joy in creating, designing and building things than I do working at a computer.  I am no expert in fact my best lessons have come from failed projects, but what I have to offer you is a real snapshot of how a 55 year old lady is going to try and redirect her next chapter of my life to be more joy focused.  I plan to do this through this blog and sharing with you some of my struggles and lots of my DIY work.  My hope is that maybe we can help each other transition into and through that next chapter in life, the one that is just before retirement.  The one where you are wondering things like, will these hot flashes ever end? or will I get to retire at 65 or even 70?  What have I worked so hard for?  How do I take care of myself and be a caregiver to others in my family (parents, in-laws, husband)? ect .... That stage where you should be winding down but find yourself even more stretched.  My transition plan is to focus more on quality time with my family and doing the things I enjoy - creating, building, junkin' and share my lessons learned as I go along,

Why the Crafty Damselfly?

I am crafty and I love dragonflies, but most all combinations of dragonfly shop names were already taken. So I choose the next best thing, damselfly which is what dragonflies are called in some other countries, and is also the name of  a sub-species of dragonflies. They are the thin bodied delicate ones that can have very vivid/neon like colors.  Now you might be wondering why I have a shop name but nothing to sale,   I have things to sale just not online yet.   Again trying to figure that out.   I could have waited til I had everything perfect and ready but I have learned through the years, if you wait for everything to be perfect you may never get started.  So I started and I realized I am in over my head, but I am trudging onward hoping to get there.  This may frustrate some of you and I am sorry, come back in a few months and it will be better. If you are wanting to see how I get it all figured out stick with me to see  my successes and we will both learn from my not so  successful ventures.
